The Nigerian Football Federation technical director, Augustine Eguaveon has expressed concern of the non inclusion of players from the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) into the Super Eagles squad that went to AFCON.

According to the former Super Eagles player and coach, Eguaveon, expressed dissatisfaction with the coach’s decision and to leave the NPFL players out of the squad. Though he was happy with the style of play and progress the team did show at the tournament.

He made it that nobody interfered with the coach’s team selection and decision making. According to him all the players that went to the tournament were the players the coach wanted.

He however urged the coach to look into the Nigerian league as there are good players who will also understand the coach’s tactics and style of play.
