Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand has urged the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to investigate the Moroccan FA over the role of ball boys in the stealing of hand towels meant for goalkeepers.

This is coming on the heels of videos circulating online showing ball boys, staff, and players tossing away the towels meant for goalkeepers of Nigeria and Senegal in the semifinal and final respectively.

According to the former Manchester United legend, if these actions go unpunished every hosting nation will see it as a norm to steal a goalkeeper’s hand towels just to create confusion and lack of concentration for the visiting teams.

He also warned that if this goes unpunished every hosting nation will engage in it as an under hand practice to score cheap points, and this will not be good for football.
